It was founded in 1945 and it includes the Departments of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Department of Health Care, a Medical College (8 different fields) and privately owned hospital facilities with a capacity of 2,000 beds.
The Medical University of Plovdiv operates all the necessary departments for the provision of higher medical education according to modern standards. It provides theoretical, pre-clinical and clinical education, it has laboratories, clinics and other units with modern equipment – for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases -, while it enables education, practice and research to students of Medicine, Dentistry and other fields. The university’s central library offers the students more than 170,000 volumes in the field of medicine in many languages, as well as a computer room and a local area network access system for research work.

The entrance exam consists of two tests – in Biology and in Chemistry and shall be carried out on-line (home-based) on the following dates:
14 April 2022 – English – registration by 06 April 2022
12 May 2022 – English – registration by 04 May 2022
23 June 2022 – English and Bulgarian – registration by 15 June 2022
14 July 2022 – English – registration by 06 July 2022
31 August 2022 – English and Bulgarian – registration by 23 August 2022
08 September 2022 – English – registration by 31 August 2022
Only registered applicants will be admitted to the exams.
The registration for the entrance tests will be carried out online at the University website by the applicants themselves or by their authorized representative.
