The University “St. Ivan Rilski” has been established as an independent educational institution since 1953. During those sixty years of existence, it has been established as an academic and research center, providing training in the fields of Geology, Mining and Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. It is an institution in which fundamental and applied scientific research is carried out and the whole range of postgraduate courses is offered. The right combination of General Engineering education, along with the acquisition of profile and knowledge, provides huge opportunities for university graduates to develop professionally in this country and abroad. Since its inception, more than 21,000 engineers, including citizens from around 40 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America, have been trained and employed in the fields of Geology and Mining, Electromechanics, Civil Engineering and Industrial Construction, Environmental Protection and other fields.
